Mission
"To Minimize
the operating costs and capital requirements of compression
service while meeting market demands and all applicable environmental
regulations."
Technical
Areas
- Emissions
Control
- Operating
Flexibility
- Operations
& Maintenance Cost Reduction.
Recent
Accomplishments
- Development
of fiber-optic pressure transducer technology, now commercialized.
- Development of parametric
emissions monitoring systems for stack emissions.
- Development of portable gas
compressor flow measurement device.
- Noise control guidelines for
compressor station equipment.
- Sponsorship and development
of large-bore engine test bed at Colorado State University.
- Completed a study characterizing
the performance of 2-stroke compressor engines, demonstrating
operating limits on emissions and efficiency for use in
educating regulators about the capabilities of existing
infrastructure.
- Developed high pressure fuel
injection for 2-stroke engines that reduces emissions and
improves efficiency.
- Demonstrated the emissions
characteristics on high speed, separable, 4-stroke engines
for use in educating regulators about the capabilities of
new compressor engines.
- Developed electronically enhanced
engine control that has become the first step in NOx reduction.
- Developed sensors to implement
PEMS emissions and compressor performance monitoring, and
engine balancing systems.
