Need: The 9th Symposium on Line Pipe Research was held in Houston, Texas, September 30 - October 2, 1996.
Benefit: The proceedings present articles on the latest technological developments resulting from PRCI International sponsored research. Forty-two technical papers are available in the symposium proceedings covering the following topics: 1) Pipeline operations and risk assessment; 2) Nondestructive testing and evaluation; 3) Environmental cracking and corrosion; 4) Linepipe design and serviceability; 5) Compressor station performance; and 6) Welding.
Result: Much of the research that was presented and discussed over the course of the 2 1/2 day symposium is focused on improving the safety, the reliability, and the efficient economical operation and construction of pipeline systems.
