Abstract:

Need: This document contains handouts from a seminar conducted by Science Applications, and sponsored by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and the Pipeline Research Council International. Inc.(PRCI).

Benefit: The purpose of the seminar was to present the results of a joint EPRI and PRCI project examining the mutual design of gas pipelines and electric power lines. More details on the project are presented in a four volume report titled: "Powerline Induced AC Potential on Natural Gas Pipelines for Complex Right-of-Way Configurations."

Result: The Electric Power Research Institute and the Pipeline Research Committee of PRCI are pleased to present the results of our joint project, "Mutual Design of Natural Gas Pipelines and Electric Power Lines." This project together with the results of our earlier joint project conducted in 1976-1977 contributes significantly to solving the problems associated with joint usage of utility corridors.
