Dear Industry Colleague,
Beginning
in 1952 as the Pipeline Research Committee, this collaborative,
consensus-based technology development program has produced
the key technologies that underpin nearly every aspect of
design, construction, testing, inspection, operations and
maintenance of onshore and offshore energy pipelines and related
facilities.
PRCI’s
remarkable success and sustaining commitment to its members
and the pipeline industry worldwide is built upon three critical
success factors:
- The
voluntary, sustaining funding of the member companies who
have contributed more than $185 million dollars since 1952;
- The
dedication by PRCI member companies of knowledgeable and
dedicated technical representatives who identify, manage,
and apply the diverse range of technologies developed by
PRCI; and,
- The
involvement of the world’s leading research firms
whose combined capabilities and facilities provide PRCI
and the pipeline industry with an unparalleled research
asset base.
As we
stand her in the present and look back on 50 years of dedication
to the pipeline industry, we do so with one eye firmly fixed
on the future and the challenges and opportunities that await
the organization and the industry it serves. In this our 50th
year, we are taking the steps that will lead us into a future
that will build not only on our past but, more importantly,
on a broader technical perspective created by a more diverse
membership.
